Acne prevention - Three simple tips
683 Tips to prevent acne for life
You managed to get rid of your pimples.
But as you know acne has a nasty tendency of repeating itself. Now that you are clear it's time to focus on preventing acne to make sure you remain clear.
Use these three simple and easy to understand principles to make sure you remain clear for the rest of your life
Creams and lotions are overrated
Most acne prevention tips are about what you apply on your skin. But topical treatments, such as creams and lotions, are overrated. Contrary to common advice acne has little to do with bacteria and sebum. They are merely the last steps in the process that leads to acne.
Sebum, bacteria and blocked pores are a result of imbalances within your body. Without going into too much detail these imbalances trigger the body to produce too much sebum and skin cells to dive rapidly (= more dead skin cells), and acne causing bacteria to get comfortable in your skin pores.
Topicals only remove sebum and kill bacteria. But as long as these imbalances remain, you'll have an almost unlimited supply of them. As you can see, you cannot win this race.
Acne prevention happens from the inside out
To make sure you remain clear for life you have to correct the imbalances that lead to acne.
Unfortunately there is no one-size-fits-all solution to this. The human body is a complicated, holistic system. Meaning that everything is interconnected.
Some people get acne because of food allergies. Others because of digestive problems. While someone else may suffers from liver problems that lead to acne.
Luckily our bodies have amazing self-healing powers. Your job is to activate and support the healing efforts of your body. You can do this by taking an honest look at your diet and lifestyle.
Identify your weak links and work on improving them. For example one person may have a very healthy diet but is lazy when it comes to exercise. Other person might be active but at the same time smokes and drinks heavily.
Healing is a process that happens over time. It's unlike you'll notice instant changes. It may take a month or three for your body to heal acne.
While waiting for this to happen...
Use salt to stop a zit before it pops
Salt is hostile to most life. It kills acne causing bacteria and virus. Good thing is that bacteria won't develop resistance to it. So it doesn't stop working like antibiotics and BP sometimes do.
Here's how to add salt to your acne prevention arsenal.
For best results you have to catch a pimple before it has fully developed and inflamed. That's the time you can prevent redness, swelling and inflammation.
So immediately as see a new pimple apply salt water on it with a cotton bud. For best results soak a bid in salt water and hold it on a pimple for 2 to 3 minutes. Salt kills the bacteria and stops the pimple on its tracks.
The saltier the water the better. The water should taste heavily salted.
By using these three acne prevention tips you can be clear for life.
